Earl Johnson & Susan Opsahl
Earl and Susan are owner operators leased on with Landstar Express America. They own a 2016 Cascadia Straight truck with liftgate and reefer. They haul a variety of freight with a primary focus on pharmaceuticals. Earl and Susan began their expedited career in 2016. They are happy with the freedom of traveling the country together with their two dogs, Ingrid and Axel. They enjoy meeting new and interesting people, as well as, visiting family. Home is in the Smoky Mountains of TN. They can also be found boating on Norris Lake, TN. They both love riding motorcycles, hunting, shooting, fishing, camping and backpacking.
Susan studied at The College of Charleston in SC where she doubled majored in French and Business with a focus on International Marketing. She has won numerous ‘Sales Rep of the Year’ awards for the state of SC with national corporations. Her father was a contractor in residential and commercial construction, so she has a background in this field. Before her driving career began, Susan was active traveling internationally, scuba diving, water skiing, playing basketball, and softball. Currently she enjoys Sudoku puzzles and reading. While driving, she listens to audio books and is still thrilled when children motion for her to blow the horn.
Earl obtained his Class A CDL in 1999 while working for a local municipality in TN as a heavy equipment operator. He also has extensive experience in the residential construction industry. Earl is mechanically inclined, so he does much of the maintenance and repairs on their Cascadia. He loves many sports and he was a member of the Professional Bowler’s Association and has 8 perfect 300 games in his career. Currently, he is addicted to cornhole and needs intervention. :)
Susan and Earl look forward in retirement to growing and storing their own food, raising chickens, having a woodworking shop, and backpacking all 800 trail miles of the Smoky Mtn National Park.
